## What Heretic Lazy Shot is

Heretic Lazy Shot is a professional desktop screenshot tool: capture, annotate, beautify, ship. It pairs a GPU-accelerated compositor with a built-in MCP server, so AI agents can drive the whole loop for you instead of you clicking through it. Everything runs locally — no cloud, no subscription.

## Capture

Free-form region, window or full display, keyboard-first. A searchable window picker, per-monitor hotkeys across up to 10 displays, a live 4× magnifier loupe with pixel coordinates, a dimension label, snap-to-region, Shift for a square, Alt for center-out, Space to freeze. Filename tokens and auto-copy to clipboard round out the capture loop.

## Annotate

Eleven tools, each on a single keystroke: arrows, lines, rectangles, circles, pencil, marker, text, blur, spoiler, numbered counter, eraser. Eight colour swatches plus an HSV picker, stroke width 1–48 px, a 50-step undo/redo history, and a separate markers metadata layer with reusable presets and labels.

## Beautify

A GPU-accelerated compositor turns a raw grab into something presentable: many canvas presets (social formats, aspect ratios, custom), a catalog of 46 backgrounds, gradients, configurable drop shadows, rounded corners, and content-aware Balance & Inset cropping. Export to PNG, JPEG, WebP, TIFF or BMP, including drag-and-drop export.

## Agents drive it (MCP)

A built-in Model Context Protocol server exposes every core action, so Claude Desktop and Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot and any MCP-compatible agent can capture, annotate and beautify on your behalf — one prompt, zero clicks, and scriptable workflows. The MCP server runs locally like the rest of the app. A free cookbook on GitHub carries six worked recipes for driving Lazy Shot from an agent, the full 23-tool reference and copy-paste MCP configs: https://github.com/GigLaboCom/lazy-shot-cookbook

## Platforms, privacy and data

- Native desktop builds for **macOS** (primary) and **Windows** (secondary), built with Tauri 2 for native performance.
- Screenshots, markers, drafts and settings stay on your machine, in a local SQLite database under `~/.heretic-lazy-shot`. No cloud upload, no telemetry on content, and no account required to capture, annotate and beautify.

## Pricing

- **Free trial with every download** — no credit card required. The full annotation, compositor and MCP feature set is available before you buy.
- **Lifetime license, pay once, no subscriptions.** Two SKUs: a single-device license (regular price €29.98) and a three-device pack (regular price €59.98). A time-limited launch discount runs on the page for the opening batch of licenses — check the pricing section for the current price.
