See MnemoVi find the exact moment
Drop in a video, let it watch and listen, then ask in plain words — and land on the second you meant.
A real screen recording. Everything you see runs on-device — no cloud.
It doesn't just transcribe. It watches.
Said, On-screen, or Both.
Every result is labeled by source — what was spoken, what was shown — with an exact timecode.
Reads the screen like you do.
Slides, captions, product labels, signs, on-screen text. If it appeared in the frame, it's searchable.
Any video you can get.
Your own files, watched folders, or links from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and X.
Nothing leaves your device.
Speech, vision and search run locally. No cloud, no credits, no subscription.

Search your videos like you search your notes
Three steps. Two of them are automatic.
Add.
Drop in your files, point MnemoVi at a folder, or paste a link from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or X.
It watches and listens.
MnemoVi transcribes every word and describes every frame — in the background, on your hardware. Search what's ready while the rest is processing.
Ask and jump.
Type what you remember — in plain words. Click a result, land on the exact second, in the right context.
Bonus: your AI agent can search it too
MnemoVi isn't just a search box. Plug it into the agent you already work in — Claude Desktop, Codex, Gemini CLI, or any other — and your agent can search your videos, quote the exact moment, summarize a talk, or compare three tutorials, grounded in what was actually said and shown.
No uploads. Your agent queries your local index; your videos stay on your disk.

Download
Native desktop builds. Local-first video search — full v1, no MVP, no cloud dependency.
Native builds for macOS and Linux.
System requirements — Linux
MnemoVi runs on 64-bit x86 Linux: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or newer, Debian 13 or newer, Fedora 40 or newer, and current Arch. Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Debian 12 and RHEL 9 are too old to run it.
Two formats. The AppImage is one file with everything included and nothing to install first; the .deb installs MnemoVi into the system, so the launcher entry and its icon come with it. There is no updater: each new release is a full download.
Searching by meaning needs an NVIDIA graphics card with CUDA Toolkit 12 and cuDNN 9 installed — you install those from NVIDIA. Support for other makes is in progress. Without a supported card, videos are still transcribed, indexed and findable by keyword.
Full requirements, install steps and troubleshootingNow hand it to your AI agent.
MnemoVi runs a local server so Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex — any MCP agent — can search and quote your video library. Grounded, cited, and entirely on your machine.
Fair questions
On Apple Silicon (M1 and newer), transcription runs faster than real time, and frame analysis takes roughly {X} minutes per hour of video — it all happens in the background, and you can search whatever is already processed. Older Intel Macs work, but indexing is noticeably slower. Search itself is instant once a video is indexed.
Your first 5 videos — with every feature: full search, frame descriptions, AI-agent connection. No time limit, no watermarks. When you add video #6, MnemoVi asks for a license. Your knowledge base and index carry over.
Two things, both initiated by you: the AI models downloaded on first launch, and the clips you paste links for. Your videos, transcripts, frames and searches never leave your device. Verify it with a firewall — we invite you to.
Through your own browser session — MnemoVi fetches what your accounts already have access to, directly to your disk. Nothing goes through our servers; we don't have servers in the loop.
MnemoVi is a paid product by an independent developer — that's what funds it. What we offer instead: a single local binary, full offline mode, zero telemetry, and outbound traffic you can audit yourself.
MnemoVi keeps working. It runs offline, the license doesn't phone home, and your index lives in an open on-disk format on your machine. There is no server to switch off.
Linux is here now — not just on the roadmap: a native desktop app beside the macOS (Apple Silicon) one, each running entirely on your own machine. There is no Windows build to download today. It uses your graphics card to speed up indexing when one is available.
Transcription supports {X} languages including English, German and Russian; search queries work in the language of your content.

From the same shelf
You index video. Two more of the same idea.
MnemoVi keeps footage searchable on your own machine. These come from the same shelf: one does the job for whatever is on your screen, the other is the indexing engine MnemoVi itself runs on.
