Nevo David - Postiz passed $2,000,000 in ARR! There's a claim on X that SaaS is de...

Nevo David breaks down how he grew Postiz, his social-media scheduling tool, past $2M ARR, and argues SaaS isn't dead — it's flooded, because vibe coding means everyone can ship software. Core thesis: stop selling the software, sell the result. Scheduling is no longer the problem (there are millions of tools); distribution is. So Postiz is marketed through stories of customers who grew a B2C/B2B app and used Postiz as one step in the process.
OLD CHANNELS he sees fading: paid ads (CAC vs churn — a $50 ad against a $9 customer only pays off with long retention or annual plans); traditional SEO (traffic climbed but revenue didn't, and free tools like his Reddit comment generator draw traffic that won't convert); company updates and building in public (hundreds of thousands of views, flat MRR).
NEW CHANNELS he is doubling down on:
- Authority — posting real, provable revenue almost daily (Stripe link, TrustMRR) so the rest of what he says is believed. Any public verifiable metric works (shared Plausible/DataFast analytics, post views).
- X articles — long-form is what X wants to push, and saves plus read time now outrank likes and comments. He co-writes articles with paying Postiz customers who actually make money, then pays influencers to quote-repost with a ~30s video, because the two amplify each other.
- SaaS tutorials like this video — content deliberately adjacent to the product, which converts because the authority is already there.
- AEO (being cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude) — easier than SEO because the content need not live on your own site: genuinely useful Reddit answers, LinkedIn and X articles, GitHub "awesome" repositories. It is won by niche: "best social media tool with agents" is winnable where "social media scheduler" means fighting Buffer and Sprout Social.
- Lead magnets ("comment X to get Y") — against the rules on X, fine on LinkedIn, strongest on Instagram. TikTok and Instagram are interest-based now, so small accounts still get reach; expect bans and keep opening accounts. Postiz is adding automated comment/DM, Instagram first.
- UGC and AI UGC — $20-30 a video, run at scale across ~10 accounts, cheaper per viral million views than ads. AI UGC via his second startup, Agent Media.
Target: $3M ARR by March — agencies for UGC and AI UGC, warmed lead-magnet accounts, paid contributors posting real value on Reddit for AEO, and 10x the article output. Closing offer: if you have a marketing tool with real results, co-write an article with him and he will push it to 100k+ views (scheduled, of course, on Postiz).

- Posties just crossed $2 million in ARR and there is a very big notion on X that
- 0:07
- SaaS is dead. But SaaS is not dead, it just became harder. But if you do a few
- 0:14
- things you can actually get a lot more growth than all the other people. So the
- 0:21
- main thing is that today, Vibe coding is everywhere and when I Vibe code,
- 0:26
- somebody else is Vibe code. We all can build software so we can't just post it on
- 0:32
- social media because software is not so interesting anymore because everybody can
- 0:38
- do it. What we must do, we have to stop to stop selling software and start to sell
- 0:44
- opportunities. That means that if for example I'm selling Posties and Posties
- 0:50
- is a social media scheduling tool, I could basically sell in the past just
- 0:56
- scheduling because that was like the main problem. But today, and we can see this,
- 1:03
- the main problem is not scheduling. There is millions of tools that can do this.
- 1:07
- The main problem is just what this video about: distribution. People don't know how
- 1:15
- to promote their SaaS. So if I kept on going to many platforms and say here is how I
- 1:22
- sold your scheduling. People would not see a bright future in that direction. They will
- 1:29
- go to the right now. And I think this is one of the biggest problems in promoting something
- 1:42
- in that way. The way that you want to do is you need to sell people the result, which is
- 1:51
- weird because we usually think we need to sell the problem. But people want the result. The result is not a solution. And you should never sell solution.
- 2:03
- So let me break down the difference. I'm having problem to schedule on social media.
- 2:10
- It's a problem. I need somebody to solve it. The solution is a platform that can schedule or your social media posts. But the results is having money or getting views and so on.
- 2:24
- So we need to sell the results. And this is not something new. Actually, it just became a lot easier during this arbitrage season that we can just like sell a lot of software directly from LLM and there's not a lot of competitors.
- 2:38
- But right now we need to try a little bit harder. So for example, for posties, what I try to do, and you will see it in a lot of articles of my creators are posting, is that they are basically telling you how they promoted their B2C app or B2B app, right?
- 2:56
- And use posties just as a tool in their entire process. They might be running UGC or AI UGCs, but in the end, they want to schedule this on social media.
- 3:04
- All right. Now that I explained to you what you should sell and what you should do, let's move to how you should distribute your app.
- 3:13
- I'm going to talk about the old channels and the new channels. So let's see the old channels.
- 3:19
- The first one is ads. And over the years, not even with AI, ads are becoming harder and harder because imagine that if we have 10 startups per day,
- 3:34
- now we're having thousands of startups, they all want to run marketing, they're all going to run ads, ads price are going to get higher.
- 3:42
- Now, the main problem, especially with B2C is that you need to understand how much money you're spending on ads and how much money is costing you to bring one customer.
- 3:54
- So if, for example, your ad costs $50 and your customer costs $9, then you need this customer to stay for a very long time to cover this $50.
- 4:06
- Now, also, what is your churn or how long people are staying with you?
- 4:12
- Basically, most of the SaaS, especially with B2C, people don't stay for that long time.
- 4:17
- And then what's happened usually is that you will have a minus in bank immediately on every purchase.
- 4:23
- So that's becoming very hard for people.
- 4:27
- There are some people that are smarter with ads.
- 4:29
- They're selling only yearly plans.
- 4:31
- So when they sell one for $50, they might get immediately after that $100.
- 4:35
- So it covers this and it's still a great way to go.
- 4:39
- But generally speaking, everybody will tell you this ads are becoming harder.
- 4:44
- The next one is SEO.
- 4:48
- Now, I started posties with a lot of push on SEO and I've seen my traffic going up and up and up and up.
- 5:01
- But I didn't see it reflecting on the revenue.
- 5:05
- Because what I feel happened is that people are not really reading that much blog posts anymore
- 5:13
- because share GPT or whatever.
- 5:18
- And also you can do like free tools and stuff like that.
- 5:20
- So I have something like Reddit comment generator.
- 5:23
- So it gets a lot of traffic, but it doesn't convert.
- 5:27
- And I tried to do a lot of stuff to convert in that page.
- 5:30
- It didn't work.
- 5:31
- Maybe other people can do it better.
- 5:33
- But I feel like the old SEO traditional search is starting to die.
- 5:39
- Now, today we have something called AEO, which is much, much more effective, which is people searching something in the LLM and it gives back information.
- 5:51
- I'll touch this in the new channels.
- 5:54
- But the main thing to know is that I think that SEO and AEO can be done differently and AEO can actually be much, much, much easier than SEO.
- 6:05
- Next one is like normal social media.
- 6:07
- Not a lot of people doing it anymore.
- 6:10
- Basically, you have just like company updates that you push all the time, more and more stuff.
- 6:17
- And the second one is building in public.
- 6:20
- Now, the problem is that building in public was much interesting back in the days, if you go a few years ago, but now not that much.
- 6:28
- So you can see even the biggest indie hackers building in public getting hundreds of thousands of views.
- 6:37
- But if you are looking at their MRR, it's not growing that much.
- 6:41
- And I've also been posting big building in public all the time.
- 6:46
- And it doesn't serve as a direct channel to get customers.
- 6:51
- And I will explain later what is the new social media and how I think people should do it.
- 6:55
- So now that I cover the old channels and there, you know, there's a few more like outreach, press conferences, sponsorships.
- 7:02
- I'm not going to touch those.
- 7:04
- They are usually fit more to VC tech startup or startups like me that make more than 100K MRR per month.
- 7:13
- But let's go over to the new channels.
- 7:16
- So the first thing is authority.
- 7:20
- And this is something that people might already started to hate me doing it all the time.
- 7:26
- But almost every day I post my MRR revenue.
- 7:31
- And I'm not doing this because I'm like, want to say, oh, I'm making so much money.
- 7:35
- Love me.
- 7:36
- No.
- 7:36
- And that may be a little bit to inspire people.
- 7:40
- But my main goal is to create an authority.
- 7:44
- If I make a lot of money and I show it with a real proof, it means that I'm putting it on trust MRR.
- 7:50
- I'm putting my Stripe link inside.
- 7:52
- Then people will start to believe everything I say because I actually have money.
- 7:58
- I have the proof of everything I said.
- 8:01
- And if I do this right, then I can do a lot of other stuff that people will believe me.
- 8:08
- So authority is one of the most important channels that you can do.
- 8:11
- I do it specifically with money, but you can find many stuff.
- 8:15
- You have a lot of SEO views.
- 8:16
- All right.
- 8:17
- Post your views.
- 8:19
- Give people a public analytics like in DataFast or Plausible that it can be shared.
- 8:25
- And keep on posting on it all the time.
- 8:27
- You want people to understand that you are one of the strongest people in that niche.
- 8:32
- The next one is that I do a lot is articles.
- 8:35
- And this one is one of the biggest growth hacks that you can find on X.
- 8:43
- At the beginning of the year, X introduced articles.
- 8:47
- And they ran a competition that the article that gets the most amount of views will get a million dollars.
- 8:52
- There was one person who won.
- 8:55
- It looks like totally fake.
- 8:57
- But it doesn't matter.
- 8:59
- Because social media have something that they are trying to push as much as possible.
- 9:04
- Which is keep people in the platform.
- 9:09
- And articles are long form.
- 9:11
- It's the only long form basically that you can find on X.
- 9:15
- So when you write an article, you have two stuff inside your long form.
- 9:19
- The first thing is that you have saves.
- 9:23
- If a lot of people save your articles, it means that they are interested in that.
- 9:28
- And now you can see that X is favoriting saves over likes and comments.
- 9:36
- And the second one is how much time they spend on the article.
- 9:39
- How much time they read your article.
- 9:41
- And then I've actually done a very nice comparison.
- 9:44
- I've taken an article.
- 9:47
- And I even make a video like that.
- 9:49
- I had a video that got around 650k views on X.
- 9:55
- And it got much more comments and likes than another article that I had that had a lot less likes.
- 10:01
- A lot less comments.
- 10:03
- And a lot more saves.
- 10:05
- So basically what I'm saying is that articles are a growth hack for pushing your stuff.
- 10:13
- And even if you create a video, even if you create a tweet, you can actually repurpose it later for an article.
- 10:20
- Also, there was an article not so long ago that proved that if you take an article and then you quote repost it with a short video of around 30 seconds, they are like amplifying each other.
- 10:34
- The video is long.
- 10:35
- The article is very long and readable.
- 10:37
- And you will get like a lot more views.
- 10:39
- So what I've done with articles, I've looked for Posties customers that are actually making money.
- 10:44
- It's mostly B2C apps.
- 10:47
- And I collaborated with them to write how they did it with Posties.
- 10:50
- Now, of course, if you have a small startup, you might not have this proof.
- 10:53
- So what I found is really interesting in order to do this proof is just to tell the story of somebody else how they did something.
- 11:00
- If it's really related to yours, it will not have the same social proof as what I'm doing, but it can still be very, very sellable.
- 11:08
- And then what I do is that I don't want to take any risk.
- 11:12
- If I'm paying a collaborator to write an article for me, I want to make sure this gets a lot of views.
- 11:19
- This is something that not everybody can do, but I pay for many influencers to quote repost, of course, with a paid tag promotion, the main article, basically, to amplify this with the algorithm and with their followers.
- 11:34
- Now, what I've seen other people do that they don't have the budget and they can do this.
- 11:38
- They repost their own article many, many, many times.
- 11:42
- So every time they might repost the article, go to YouTube, search for some video.
- 11:46
- I want to make sure that the video and the article are kind of the same, because if not the quote repost, we get a lot of views, but the article itself will not.
- 11:56
- Now, the next one is the sauce tutorial.
- 11:59
- It's a tutorial like this.
- 12:01
- So I've made a few videos that went viral and each one of them after that got me a lot of subscriptions for posties because I'm trying to make the content very similar.
- 12:12
- If posties is about how to make money on social media, this video is also going to be around how to make money and a lot of social media and stuff like that inside.
- 12:20
- So this worked really well and it works really well because I also have the authority.
- 12:25
- So don't miss out on this.
- 12:27
- Try to build this.
- 12:28
- I know it's hard.
- 12:28
- It's a lot easier when you already have success.
- 12:31
- And I had to work really hard for success over the years in order to post now like every day, this money revenue.
- 12:39
- But you can find success in the small niches and then write about this.
- 12:43
- The next one is AEO.
- 12:45
- AEO is basically how chat GPT, perplexity, Claude and so on.
- 12:51
- See you when you query something and they bring out citation.
- 12:58
- Now the thing with AEO that a lot of people think that this is like the same as SEO, but actually it can be much, much, much easier.
- 13:06
- Because SEO usually refer to your main blog website because this is where your visitor will visit, right?
- 13:15
- Like they might go on Google, they search, whatever they want.
- 13:19
- They find it in their first results.
- 13:21
- They click on it and then from there they're already inside of posties, for example, and they go and they register.
- 13:28
- Now in AEO, you don't have to have your content inside your website.
- 13:33
- And this is what makes it much, much, much easier because you can write comments and post in many other places.
- 13:41
- So for example, Reddit.
- 13:44
- Reddit is a public social media platform and you can find people that are asking questions about how to do specific stuff.
- 13:53
- And then you can just answer a really good answer, not an LLM, not an AI generated on how to do that specific thing.
- 14:00
- Now, the nice thing about this is that before people would use Reddit to write comments in order to sell to that specific person or the person inside the conversation.
- 14:12
- And I usually have never done that because I felt this is a waste of time in terms of selling one-to-one because I usually do marketing and viral marketing and I want many people to see everything that I do.
- 14:23
- But now with AEO, you can go to a simple Reddit conversation and this becomes a huge topic for LLMs later when they're searching.
- 14:32
- So you have Reddit, which is public.
- 14:34
- LinkedIn articles works also really well.
- 14:37
- Lately, X article after being complained by some people became a platform that's also been searchable by LLMs.
- 14:45
- If you target those social media platforms, you can get like a lot of traffic from this.
- 14:52
- And the next thing in AEO is GitHub repository.
- 14:55
- I specifically working with agents.
- 14:58
- So what I do, I go to GitHub and so on and I just like list myself in a lot of awesome repository post is in itself.
- 15:05
- So you can find a lot of like OpenClaw or Hermes agent and stuff like that.
- 15:10
- Um, repositories that you can just like put your SAS inside.
- 15:13
- And again, chat GPT looking in very high authority website and they can bring out what people are searching.
- 15:20
- Now the way usually chat GPT works is that it searches in many, many, many pages at the same time.
- 15:26
- And they list you based on the other competitors.
- 15:29
- Also, it means that if there is a lot of more content from your competitor, then you might not be in the citation.
- 15:37
- So here it's a really good opportunity to work on the niche basically.
- 15:42
- So the more niche you are and people making multiple query, not only one on chat GPT, it will bring you out.
- 15:50
- The more generic you are, if I just said I'm a social media scheduler, now I need to compete with Buffer, Sprout Social and all the big ones, which is like much, much, much harder.
- 16:00
- Now that I'm in agents, if you search what is the best social media with agents, you might find posties because I have an advantage that this is all the content that I produce around it.
- 16:09
- The next one that working really, really well lately, it was not, it actually worked also in the past, but now people find new ways are lead magnets.
- 16:19
- So lead magnets are basically comment X to get Y.
- 16:24
- So for example, comment AI to get my full tutorial.
- 16:28
- Now, this is not allowed on X.
- 16:29
- I don't know why, but don't do this because it is tricking the algorithm, but you can definitely do it on LinkedIn.
- 16:36
- And now the main platform that everybody is doing it on is Instagram.
- 16:39
- And soon you can even do this automated comment and DM with posties starting with Instagram.
- 16:45
- So people are reporting that Instagram has a very good way of doing this thing.
- 16:50
- And it gets a lot of views.
- 16:52
- And I've seen people that what they do, they find one video that is really, really good on Instagram after they posted many.
- 17:00
- And then they use the same video in their page nonstop all the time.
- 17:04
- They just change the main cover when you open the videos and they change a little bit of the music and the texts, but they do the same thing for all the videos with the comment and stuff.
- 17:14
- Once they have this, they are just like getting so many people, so many views for what they do.
- 17:21
- Now, when you do this, you will get banned on Instagram.
- 17:26
- So don't be afraid of that because this is like part of the game.
- 17:30
- You can create more and more accounts on Instagram.
- 17:32
- They get banned.
- 17:33
- You open a new one because what happened with social media lately, especially with TikTok and Instagram, is that it became an interest platform.
- 17:40
- It means that even account that doesn't have a lot of followers can get the exposure they need.
- 17:48
- So this is really interesting because before you would have to gain a lot of followers.
- 17:52
- And then after you get a lot of followers, only a certain amount of those followers would see your posts, which is hard because you would have to build your profile for a very long time.
- 18:03
- But now, if it's good and you do some warmup, it means that you open first, you like and comment on the type of interest that you're trying to post on, especially on TikTok.
- 18:16
- The algorithm will show you to the people that are searching for this specific stuff and you will get them to comment, like and try a tool.
- 18:24
- Now, what I would like to do, because I feel the main problem with this is that you have to create lead magnets all the time because you can't use the same lead magnet all the time.
- 18:33
- It just gets like fatigue and it's not interesting.
- 18:37
- So you need like a one source of truth platform.
- 18:40
- So, for example, if I have this video that I made right now, now I can go to Instagram, make the video that I want.
- 18:47
- Write in the end comment and I will send you the link to the video, basically, which is this big video.
- 18:54
- So then you don't have to work so hard to create these lead magnets all the time because you have this specific source that you're working with, that this is like where you get all your content for everything else.
- 19:06
- And the last one, I can say that I'm amazing in this, but I'm working with many people that are amazing in this, is UGC and AI UGC.
- 19:14
- Basically, UGC is just like some people talking and promoting your app, basically, or whatever you're trying to sell.
- 19:23
- And AI UGC is instead of real people, it's fake people.
- 19:27
- And you can create those fake people with Agent Media at my second startup.
- 19:33
- So the thing about UGC is that usually it will not get a lot of views, but you can run it at scale.
- 19:40
- So it's going to cost around like $20 to $30 per video for somebody to make for you.
- 19:46
- But they can produce every day like one, two videos and you can work with 10 accounts at the same time.
- 19:52
- And then it becomes usually like just a money game.
- 19:56
- How much money you spend around UGC until one of those videos gets viral.
- 20:02
- And then when it gets viral, then you can get many times viral because you understand what is that specific stuff that got viral.
- 20:09
- Now, the thing that people are reporting, and this is why I'm going to double down on this, is that usually with all this calculation, until one video goes viral, it will be much, much, much cheaper than ads.
- 20:21
- Because you can have even one video that gets a million views.
- 20:25
- And with ads are getting a million views, going to be extremely, extremely, pricey.
- 20:31
- Those are the things that I'm going to double down on.
- 20:34
- My goal is to reach $3 million ARR by March.
- 20:37
- So I'm going to push hard on all of them.
- 20:39
- It means hiring agencies specifically for UGC and AI UGC.
- 20:45
- Creating accounts for lead magnets.
- 20:47
- I already have two that's been warming up.
- 20:50
- AO, hiring people that will post on Reddit and comment to people, but really valuable content.
- 20:57
- We don't want it to feel like a bot that's just doing a self-promotion.
- 21:01
- It needs to be something with a lot of insights.
- 21:03
- A lot more tutorial like this one that can help actual people out and also push post these in between.
- 21:11
- And then articles on ads from different creators.
- 21:15
- I'm going to 10x that.
- 21:17
- Make a lot more articles.
- 21:19
- Pay a lot more people to repost them.
- 21:21
- And then, of course, keep on posting MRR and money and so on.
- 21:26
- Now, the last thing that I want to finish on, if we are talking about the articles 10x.
- 21:31
- If you have a marketing tool that you have built and you manage to get a lot of views with that specific tool for you or for your customer, please contact me.
- 21:43
- I want to write an article together with you.
- 21:47
- Of course, the scheduling will be on posties.
- 21:50
- And I will use all my reposters, like I said before, in order to push this article to at least 100k views.
- 21:57
- This is a big opportunity for you and for me.
- 21:59
- So feel free to reach out and see you in the next one.
